POSITION SUMMARY:
This is am exciting opportunity for a Data Privacy Leader to join us under the supervision of the Chief Compliance Officer and the Danaher Corporate Data Privacy Office. This role will partner directly with internal business partners throughout all Operating Companies (OpCo's) in the Product Identification (PID) and Water Platforms, including matrix managerial responsibilities over Privacy Pivots.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
In conjunction with the Danaher DPO, monitor current privacy laws, review changes to existing laws and monitor new global legislation
Educate Platform, OpCo leaders and legal department colleagues on DP legislative initiatives, state and impact of regulations globally (e.g., GDPR, CCPA, etc.)
Drive implementation of DP action plan; craft and maintain Platform and OpCo-specific DP action plans
Build, train, maintain and lead a network of OpCo DP Pivots (non-legal business partners in functions such as Marketing, IT, Legal, and HR) who support execution of the action plans
Support Marketing to implement consent and monitor identity management solutions
Support Sales to negotiate privacy obligations and partner with Procurement to conduct due-diligence with third-party service providers; prepare and negotiate data protection agreements with third parties and affiliated companies'
Ensure compliance with record and reporting obligations under all applicable DP regulations, specifically by maintaining a directory of data processing systems and workflows; coordinate completion of annual attestation by functional owners and/or management (ex. Attestor).
Collect, investigate and advance DP incidents
Capture, assess and respond to DP inquiries by external and internal data subjects.
Liaise with external DPOs and DP advisers; register legal entities with local DP authorities where necessary
Collaborate with works councils for associate related DP matters
Assess and handle privacy risks throughout the mergers and acquisition process, and the integration of the Danaher/Platform Privacy Program into newly acquired businesses.
Represent Water and PID Platforms at Danaher DP Council and related meetings and conferences
Audit OpCos for DP compliance; assist with responding to audits by DP authorities
BACKGROUND & SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Requirements: B.A./B.S. required. J.D. required. Licensed to practice law in Colorado and/or Illinois or the ability to obtain a license as needed for in-house practice.
Language Skills: English required. Any other versatile language (e.g., German, Spanish, French, Russian, Chinese) a plus.
Work Experience: 5+ years of Data Privacy professional experience in a law firm or corporate legal/ compliance department setting
Must have had responsibility for global or multi-national DP program(s) and must have experience with communication with DP authorities.
Experience and successes with project management.
Preferred experience:
- Experience as Data Privacy Officer a plus.
The salary range for this role is 150K - 190K. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Colorado. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.

Additional Qualifications: Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to communicate at all levels of a matrixed organization. Ability to work well as part of a team and possess the discipline to independently and proactively follow-up on matters. Must be well-organized, detailed and able to handle numerous projects and conflicting demands in a fast-paced environment. Project management and 5S or DBS experience preferred. Must have strong MS Office skills and should have a strong interest in further developing skills and abilities.
