A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A FACILITIES MAINTENANCE WORKER
As a Facilities Maintenance Worker, you will be responsible to ensure the buildings, driveways, and walkways are in top condition. You will perform a variety of work for maintenance and repairs of the grounds and buildings. "Safety Always" is our motto, which you will support by monitoring equipment and materials to ensure safe operation, following safety procedures as you work, and ensuring a clean and orderly work area.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Perform preventive maintenance, repair, and construction in connection with electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, exterior and interior of buildings, grounds, and grounds equipment
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities, grounds, and building systems
- Acquire and coordinate proposals, make recommendations, and oversee contractors for building and grounds projects and maintenance (ie lawn care, snow removal, building projects)
- Remove snow and ice from building walkways and steps; rake leaves, mow grass, clean and sweep as needed
- Prioritize and process work orders pertaining to maintenance/repair of facilities and grounds
- Monitor and ensure adequate inventory of supplies and parts related to buildings and grounds (ie light bulbs, ice salt, etc)
- Assist with storage and movement of raw materials and finished goods
- Execute a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency in all maintenance and repair projects
- Perform all duties and maintain all standards in accordance with company policies and procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Skilled in the use of hand and power tools; ability to use common tools such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches
- Basic knowledge of construction, HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings
- Knowledge of measuring equipment including micrometers, calipers, and tape measures
- Use of logic and reasoning in daily decision making and problem-solving
- Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication
- Highly organized with attention to detail and strong time management
- Basic computer proficiency
- Forklift and aerial lift experience preferred, ability to become certified within 30 days required
- Valid driver's license required; must be insurable by company policy
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 25 pounds frequently
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance and/or construction experience
1ST SHIFT WORK SCHEDULE
The typical schedule for this full-time 1st shift position is Monday - Friday from 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with weekends free!
