Dell Services has partnered with Beaumont and we are currently looking for a Patient Access candidate to work 40 hours per week with our team at a Beaumont Gastroenterology practice/healthcare center located in Dearborn, MI.
As a Patient Access team member, you will work under the supervision of the Practice Manager/Supervisor and, in accordance with established policy and procedures, perform a wide range of indirect patient care activities including but not limited to: patient appointments, registration, billing functions, cash collections, phone communications, and office maintenance.
Responsibilities:
-Daily decisions and actions must demonstrate engagement, a sense of job ownership, and compassion and sensitivity to others
-Daily decisions and actions must also reiterate our desired outcomes – high patient satisfaction and safety, optimal productivity, and high employee morale
-Contribute to overall patient satisfaction by consistently providing superior customer service to all patients and their families
-Perform business office functions (clerical, environmental, and organizational) under the supervision of the Practice Manager/Supervisor
-Greet and accurately register patients in a timely fashion
-Keep patients informed regarding delays in appointment times and/or the processing of their requests
-Adhere to, and remain compliant with, state/federal guidelines pertaining to HIPAA standards
-Verify insurance coverage and eligibility; respond to patient inquiries regarding basic insurance questions
-Collect and process co-pays, co-insurance, deductibles, and balances on patient accounts
-Answer telephones, schedule appointments, and maintain electronic schedules
-Process referrals and arrange for laboratory/diagnostic services
-Escalate non-routine issues to more senior-level team members
-Demonstrate a sense of urgency to all tasks and respond accordingly
-Provide a pleasant and comfortable environment; demonstrate respect and maintain patient’s dignity and confidentiality
-Consistently demonstrate competency in job required skills and comprehensive knowledge of policies, processes, and technologies
-May assist with onboarding and training new team members; acts as a mentor to motivate and support staff in performing daily duties
-Perform routine EMR audits to ensure all procedures are billed for and monitor reports to ensure compliance
Requirements:
-Must have 1 years of work experience in a medical office setting
-Must have minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent
-Must be passionate about providing superior patient care at all times
-Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Must have some knowledge of medical terminology
-Must be able to multi-task
-Must be able to work collaboratively and seamlessly with all Dell and Beaumont personnel alike
-Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds of supplies
-Must be willing to travel between all BMG healthcare centers if required/requested
