Waltonen is actively seeking a hands-on AI Programmer / AI Software Engineer to develop internal AI agents, workflow automation tools, and intelligent business systems that improve operational efficiency across the organization.
Design, develop, test, and maintain internal AI tools, AI agents, and workflow automation systems
Build AI-powered applications that support engineering, operations, manufacturing, administration, and business functions
Develop intelligent workflow automation solutions to streamline repetitive or manual processes
Create and integrate AI agents capable of supporting internal knowledge retrieval, process execution, reporting, and decision support
Develop software applications and backend systems using Python, C, C++, Java, and related technologies
Build AI-powered applications to support engineering, operations, manufacturing, and business functions
Integrate AI technologies, APIs, databases, and business systems into existing infrastructure
Collaborate with teams across the organization to identify AI and automation opportunities
Optimize software performance, reliability, scalability, and security
Research, evaluate, and implement emerging AI tools, frameworks, and technologies
Troubleshoot, optimize, and maintain software performance and reliability
Maintain technical documentation, coding standards, and development best practices
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, AI, or related field
3-5 years of software development experience
Strong programming skills in Python, C / C++, Java, etc.
Experience with AI/ML technologies, APIs, and system integrations
Understanding of AI workflow automation, Large Language Models (LLMs), Software architecture and scalable system design
Experience with Git/version control systems
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and execute projects with minimal oversight
Preferred Qualifications
Experience developing AI agents or automation systems
Experience with OpenAI APIs, LangChain, or similar AI frameworks
Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), Vector databases, Cloud platforms, Docker/containerized environments
Experience in manufacturing, defense, automotive, or industrial environments preferred
