These persons will learn to develop, build, and setup tooling jobs; maintain tools and press equipment, and to work closely with other people for the purpose of facilitating effective and efficient production. Graduating apprentices will be expected to work a night shift.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn the responsibilities of, and become skilled at, the job of Eyelet Tool & Die Maker. This will be accomplished by spending a specific number of hours in key areas, as outlined in the Apprentice Manual.
- Maintain and update apprentice book. Apprentice is responsible for completing outline.
- Successfully complete the required related course work through an approved college or institution.
- Successfully complete all required in-house training programs.
- Purchase the tools required for the position.
- Be able to work on the shift assigned.
- Maintain excellent safety and housekeeping habits.
- Contribute to an environment for harmonious operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent experience.
- Regarded as creative, a self-starter, and adaptable.
- Educated and experienced in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Statistical Problem Solving.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Can document course work or equivalent experience in these areas:
- Blueprint reading
- Machinist/technical math
- Statistical Process Control
- Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
- Basic Machine Shop
- Interpersonal communications
- One year of experience as a Die Setter.
- Completion of an Associates Degree in Machine Tool at a technical college.
REQUIRED INTERPERSONAL & BEHAVIORAL SKILLS:
- Has good mechanical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
