Position requires cosmetic expertise to integrate aesthetics into restorative or orthodontic treatment plans, ensuring form and function. Diagnose and treat diseases, injuries, and malformations of the teeth, gums, and related oral tissues, providing both preventive and corrective services. Formulate comprehensive treatment plans based on patient evaluations and clinical findings. Administer local anesthetics to minimize patient discomfort during procedures. Perform restorative and surgical procedures, including oral and periodontal surgeries, root canals, pulp capping, and removal of diseased tissue using appropriate dental and surgical instruments. Use dental air turbines, hand instruments, and other equipment to perform treatments and eliminate irritating margins of fillings or correct bite (occlusion) issues. Fill pulp chambers and canals with endodontic materials to complete root canal procedures. Apply fluoride treatments or dental sealants to prevent tooth decay. Bleach, clean, or polish teeth to improve and restore natural appearance. Design, fabricate, or fit prosthodontic appliances such as space maintainers, bridges, or dentures; or provide detailed prescriptions or instructions to dental technicians or denturists. Write prescriptions for antibiotics, analgesics, or other medications related to oral care. Advise and educate patients on preventive dental care, treatment options, oral hygiene practices, and the causes of dental conditions. Evaluate dental health educational materials for patient awareness. Plan, organize, and maintain community or clinic-based dental health programs. Analyze patient data to identify trends in dental diseases or evaluate ongoing treatment needs. Use personal protective equipment, such as gloves, masks, and safety glasses, to ensure infection control and patient safety. Examine patients’ teeth, gums, and related oral structures using diagnostic tools such as dental instruments and x-rays to assess oral health, diagnose abnormalities, and develop appropriate treatment plans. Manage administrative and business aspects of the practice, including hiring and supervising staff and handling documentation. Dentist License from State of Michigan required. No travel or language fluency.
