Perform tasks involving physical labor at parking lots and roadways by operating several types of maintenance equipment. including skid steer, asphalt roller, hot box, mill, infrared machine, rubber machine, sealcoat machine, Concrete removal, repair and replacement, crack filling machine, and company vehicles. May require routine repair and maintenance of all associated equipment in addition to other duties. Perform all general duties associated with asphalt paving, patching, sealcoating or prepping worksites. Apply seal coat material utilizing a long handled squeegee and/or spray wand. Remove and repair catch basins. Prepare surfaces utilizing an asphalt crack router. Assist in the placement, moving and dismantling of signs, barricades, cones and other traffic control devices. Drive van and/or medium duty work truck ( 26,000 GVW) and tow necessary equipment to work site locations. Perform cleanup of job sites upon completion of job. Perform striping of parking lots using striper machine or manual spray. 40 hours per week. Varying number of hours per workday depending on shift. Monday-Saturday; days and shifts vary depending on specific job and weather but typically range between 8am and 6:00pm Monday thru Friday. Some occasional Sunday work may be required. OT Possible. High School/GED required. 3 months of experience is required. Know how to drive a truck 26,000 GVW. Knowledge of how to operate equipment. Able to obtain a driver’s license upon hire. The employee will not supervise other workers. Travel will be required. Daily transportation provided by the employer to worksites. Work will be performed in the following counties: Oakland, Macomb, Genesee, Lapeer, St. Clair, Wayne, Washtenaw, and Livingston counties. Wage: $29.23/hr. OT Wage: $43.85/hr . Workers paid weekly. Optional board/lodging available at a cost to be deducted from pay if elected at a cost of $500 per month. In accordance with applicable Michigan state law, Earned Sick Time Act 338, employers are required to provide earned sick time to their employees. The amount of paid sick leave provided may vary depending on the size of the business. On the job training provided. Raises and/or bonuses may be offered to any worker in the specified occupation, at the company’s sole discretion, based on individual factors including work performance, skill and tenure. Single workweek will be used to compute wages due. All deductions from the worker’s paycheck required by law will be made. If the worker completes 50% of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will provide or pay for workers’ reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker’s voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence provided at a rate of at least $16.28/day during travel to a maximum of $68/day with receipts/documentation of actual expenses. H2B Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job, and guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12 week period of total employment period.
