The City of Kentwood Parks and Recreation Department is looking for enthusiastic and dependable Arts & Enrichment Instructors to lead fun, engaging programs for adults and youth in our community. Whether you’re skilled in painting, crafting, design, or another creative medium, this is a fantastic opportunity to share your skills, connect with others, and inspire imagination through hands-on experiences!
What You’ll Do
As an Arts & Enrichment Instructor, you’ll:
- Plan and lead engaging art or enrichment classes and workshops for participants of all skill levels.
- Develop projects, materials lists, and lesson plans that encourage creativity and success.
- Guide participants step-by-step through projects while supporting self-expression and confidence.
- Create a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment for all participants.
- Maintain attendance records, manage supplies, and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Represent the Parks and Recreation Department with professionalism and enthusiasm.

About You
You’re creative, patient, and passionate about teaching others. You enjoy working with people of all ages and backgrounds, and you love seeing participants light up as they learn something new.
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- At least one (1) year of experience teaching, training, or leading arts or enrichment activities
- Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to plan lessons, manage groups, and foster a positive learning atmosphere

Pay & Perks
- Hourly pay range: $18.00 - $25.00, depending on experience
- Flexible, part-time hours based on programming needs
- Evening and weekend availability may be required
- Discounts on recreation program registrations
