Specific Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Calibration and validation of advanced vehicle traction and controls systems
eAWD - AWD front / rear ratio control, slip control, and yaw control
eTCS - Traction control
eLSD - Limited slip differential calibration
eLocker- Locking differential calibration
Vertical Dynamics - Ride height, Air springs, and Dampers
Driving and riding in vehicles at and past traction limits
Comfort at high lateral and longitudinal Gs
The use of INCA, MDA, and other industry standard tools for calibration work
Ability to operate and navigate models within Simulink
Work with controls engineers to develop a strong understanding of the system and improve algorithms to meet attribute goals
Ability to travel nationally and internationally for environmental trips to ensure robust calibration and validation in:
High mu - Racetracks
Low mu - snow and ice track facilities
Mixed mu - Off-road
Basic Qualifications:
Highly organized and self-starter
Bachelor's degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or equivalentdegree
Basic understanding of Vehicle Dynamics (handling & comfort) and active chassis systems.
Passion for innovative technologies with an understanding of the relevant automotive trends
Basic Simulink knowledge
Knowledge of data acquisition and calibration tools (INCA, CANAPE, CANALYZER)
Availability for business trips (USA and abroad), also for prolonged trips
Experienced and comfortable in vehicles while operating at and past traction limits
Experienced and comfortable in vehicles during high lateral and longitudinal acceleration loads
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of 3 years' automotive calibration and/or controls experience
Advanced and practiced Simulink knowledge and skills
Previous experience as controls/SW developer or calibration engineer
Knowledge of CAN Networks
Master's degree in relevant engineering or controls field
Advanced understanding and experience withVehicle Dynamics (handling & comfort) and active chassis systems
Advanced driving experience and/or training
