Engine Calibration Development Intern (Internship - Summer 2026)
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Assist and lead in the development of state-of-the-art engine control calibration to meet all North American tailpipe emissions and OBD regulations
- Ensure seamless operation between base and diagnostic engine calibration features
Be a self-starter to proactively develop technical competency through vehicle experimentation and engine software control-documentation review, while working with Senior Engineers
- Daily hands-on learning, experimentation, and validation
Perform prototype vehicle emissions testing to meet program deliverables
- Support testing within the emissions cells and interpreting test results
Learn and apply engineering problem solving methodology
- Understand requirements, develop experiments to meet the requirements, perform tests, analyze results, and improve optimization of system
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE ROLE
Minimum requirements
Pursuing Bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical or electrical engineering
Must have experience developing MATLAB or Python scripts for data analysis and visualization
Strong analytical capabilities, strong written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong desire to take responsibility for an engineering task related to Emissions Reduction, On-Board Diagnostics, or Drivability improvement and develop a plan to execute it
Desired Skills
Hands-on vehicle experience or student project experience in Formula SAE/Baja/Ecocar or robotics
