ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE ASSISTANT II

Position Summary:
Provides telephone reception services to students, parents, and university community on behalf of the Office of Scholarships and Financial Aid (OSFA ). Assists with clerical processing of agency scholarship certifications. Assists OSFA staff with other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED .
Two years of qualifying experience or a combination of education and experience that equates to two years.
Experience with Microsoft Word.
Customer service experience.
Organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
Demonstrated positive interpersonal skills.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to project a positive attitude.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines with accurate results.
Ability to compose, proofread and edit correspondence.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with computers and computer systems.
Demonstrated ability to carry out routine administrative functions in an independent manner.
Knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Performs general receptionist duties for the Office of Scholarships & Financial Aid.
Schedules appointments for financial aid advisors.
Provides moderately in-depth answers regarding most phases of financial aid processes.
Advises callers regarding status of financial aid application.
Advises callers regarding federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
Provides clerical assistance to OSFA administration as needed.
Assists in OSFA outreach activities (i.e CMU and You Day, admissions events and scholarship competitions).
Performs other duties as assigned.
