JOB TITLE: Maintenance Technician

Starting Wage: $22-25/hour
SUMMARY: This position is responsible for preventative maintenance and responding to maintenance requests related to production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Will include but are not limited to the following:
- Preventative maintenance (oiling, cleaning, inspecting, testing, calibrating, etc.) of plant mechanical equipment located within the production room as well as Hi-Los, pallet jacks, and delivery trucks
- Help anticipate preventive maintenance concerns throughout property, document and communicate these issues/concerns. Help identify needed spare parts and replacement parts accurately.
- Follow, document, and update preventive maintenance schedule.
- Building upkeep duties; painting, cleaning/power-washing, outdoor & parking lot maintenance.
- Address mechanical needs as they arise and assist maintenance personnel with unpredicted maintenance issues.
- Help maintain a clean and sanitary facility by helping with periodic cleaning projects (i.e. pallet rack cleaning, floor striping and cleaning, pallet organizing, general cleaning and upkeep.
- Complete daily report documenting the completion of duties, communicating with supervisors and managers, and helping to identify maintenance issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in problem solving and trouble-shooting
- Good communication skills
- Knowledgeable of proper lock out/tag out and safety harness procedures
- Able to work independently
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma or GED
- completion of an apprenticeship classroom program in facilities management, electrical engineering or construction technology OR at least three years’ experience in a related field
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand, crawl, bend, and work in a prone position, sometimes for long periods of time
- Must be able to work in extreme weather conditions
- Must be able to work at elevated heights (such as on a roof)
- Must be able to work in loud environments (with ear protection)
