Job Overview
The Maintenance Technician position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site's business goals and objectives.
A Day In The Life
Maintain and repair plant manufacturing equipment using blueprints, schematics, multi-meter, and other specialty tools
Perform regular checks and maintenance of machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operation
Collaborate with other departments to coordinate maintenance tasks and ensure minimal disruption to production
Effectively communicate with service technicians and suppliers to troubleshoot equipment
Provide support and recommendations during installations & start-up of new equipment
Perform basic plumbing, mechanical, and electrical work
Document preventive maintenance, predictive maintenance, and other recordkeeping utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Database System
Develop and implement improvement ideas
Perform other miscellaneous work assignments as directed
Diagnose and rebuild small tools & supporting equipment
What will help you thrive in this role?
High School Diploma or equivalent; Associates Degree in related field is preferred
Minimum 5 years of related maintenance experience or demonstrated abilities in mechanical/electric/hydraulic systems, including troubleshooting and repair
Demonstrated ability to work effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment
Possess a demonstrated value for safety
Electrical knowledge of AC and DC circuits, frequency drives, soft starts, motor starters, PC's, and PLC
Mechanical knowledge of welders, pneumatics, hydraulics, vertical saws, plasma cutters, lasers, press brakes, formers, folders, and cranes
Possess strong decision-making skills as well as the ability to see a project through from start to finish
Willingness to work extended hours, off shifts, be part of a small group that handles breakdown call-in repairs and periodic weekend work as business needs surface
Ability to communicate technical information in both verbal and written formats
Computer skills to include MS Office programs
