Location: Gratiot Machining Facility

Average Hourly Pay Range - $19.00 - 25.00
Day Shift Monday through Friday 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.
PTO upon hire, Medical, Dental, and Vision Benefits are offered immediately upon employment, 401(k) after 6 months.
Overview:
As a Quality Inspector / Auditor I for Merrill: A Keel Company, you will be responsible for the dimensional and physical inspection and testing to verify that the product and/or processes conform to the customer requirements. On the job training is provided as necessary.
Job Functions:
- Performs product or process inspection utilizing standardized inspection methods.
- Visually and physically check parts against blueprint or work order specifications using precision measuring instruments.
- Completes quality packages that conform to customer standards.
- This position is consider to be in training towards a Level II Inspector / Auditor.
Physical Demands: Frequent standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and twisting. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. without mechanical assistance. This position requires regular computer and inspection tool usage as well as physical handling of parts.
Work Environment: Inspection room and shop floor environment, so exposure to moving parts, dust, debris, and loud noise is common. PPE is required at all times on the manufacturing floor.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- One (1) year of experience in a quality-related position preferred specifically in laser tracking.
- Basic knowledge of inspection and test equipment.
- Familiarity with drawings and blueprints, including GD&T.
- Technical math skills including trigonometry.
- Knowledge of materials associated with typical products.
- Basic knowledge of standard inspector duties such as sampling, sorting, and containment actions.
- Ideal candidates will have good verbal and written communication skills, be organized, industrious, and hard-working, and will possess above average problem-solving skills.
- Must be able to adapt to daily changes in priority and take direction from leadership.
- A strong desire to increase knowledge and skills in quality and inspection is critical to this role.
Salary Description
$19.00 - $26.00/hour
