Job Summary:
Under the direction of the Technical Services Coordinator, Under the direction of the Technology Director, assists in the repair, deployment, and management of all computers, printers, and technology equipment in the district. Provides leadership and supervision for building technicians and supports the district’s end-user computing environment through coordination of hardware, software, and inventory systems.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise and support Building Technicians across all district facilities.
- Serve as the Primary Building Technician for the Administration Building.
- Support district copying and printing services, including printer policies, deployment, and maintenance.
- Oversee mobile device management (MDM) platforms such as Microsoft SCCM, Intune, and Mosyle.
- Perform repairs on computers and peripherals.
- Determine and correct problems with computer hardware and software.
- Install computer hardware, both internal and external devices.
- Coordinate computer hardware RMA and repair processes with outside vendors.
- Maintain accurate inventory of technology equipment and parts; manage ordering and replacement cycles.
- Recommend purchases of end-user computing equipment based on district needs and standards.
- Collaborate with other members of the Technology Department to ensure efficient and consistent technology support across all district buildings.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Must have knowledge of and comply with the policies and procedures contained in the Portage Public Schools Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Computer diagnostic skills.
- Hands-on experience repairing computer hardware.
- Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
- Minimum 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with district staff and the public.
- Ability to assume responsibility, display initiative, and exercise good judgment.
- Proficient computer and documentation skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, related, or combination of education and equivalent experience - preferred.
- Prior experience with Windows Server and SCCM — preferred.
- Previous supervisory experience — preferred.
- Previous budget management experience — preferred.
