The employee in this position is under the general supervision of the supervisor on duty, the employee drives motorized bus equipment in a safe, efficient, and courteous manner in transporting passengers; receives and transmits communications within the Dial-A-Ride system; completes necessary records and reports; and performs related work as required. This system operates seven days a week, and the actual duty assignments will be determined by supervision.
The bus washer is a fully trained bus driver who is assigned to clean and inspect the fleet of Dial-A-Ride buses. The bus washer will wash the interior and exterior of the buses complete safety audits and maintain supplies. In addition the bus washer may occasionally be called upon to assist in driving a bus to provide transportation services. This position will typically work evenings during the regular work week.
Required Education/Experience/Knowledge
Graduation from high school or the General Educational Development (GED) equivalency. No previous work experience required! We provide training on site!
Must possess a valid State of Michigan Driver's License with a good driving record prior to employment and maintain both as a condition of employment.
If hired, the employee will be need to obtain a Class C Commercial Driver’s License with P Endorsement. The City will provide on the job training required for this license.
