About the Role
As a Registered Nurse in our Pediatrics Department, you'll play a key role in ensuring exceptional care to our youngest patients and their families. You'll provide clinical nursing support within the CMU Health faculty group practice, partnering with physicians, nurse practitioners, and the broader care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and process patient needs such as prescription refills, urgent care scheduling, and medical supplies.
- Perform patient assessments, obtain vitals, and document encounters per nursing standards.
- Provide education to patients and families, ensuring clear understanding of treatment plans and physician orders.
- Support clinic operations including room setup, diagnostic testing, and assisting physicians during procedures.
- Serve as a resource for nursing assessments via phone and in-person interactions.
- Foster an environment that supports medical students and residents as part of our academic mission.
Qualifications
- Current RN license (Michigan) required | BSN Preferred
- Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
- Minimum 2 years RN experience required
- Ambulatory or home health care experience
- Passion for working with pediatric patients and their families
Preferred Qualification
*Endocrinology experience preferred but not required
