General Summary
Provide support to the Auto Technology Instructor as needed. Work closely with students in the Auto Technology program by providing additional support in the lab and classroom setting. Support supervision of students on work-based learning opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Provide direct support to the Auto Technology Instructor

Provide support and instruction to students in the Auto lab and classroom

Provide demonstrations of auto tech repair based on previous experience

Reinforce academic skills and technical skills covered by the instructor

Assist in the development of mentorship sites and WBL (Work-Based Learning) opportunities

Assist with WBL assignments
-
Discuss student progress and needs with the instructor on a regular basis
-
Participate in professional development as needed
-
Participate in Advisory Committee meetings
-
Actively participate in SkillsUSA (Student Club Organization)

Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience
-
High school diploma (Required)
-
ASE Certification (Preferred)
-
Experience working as a licensed technician (Preferred)
-
Experience working as an automotive technician
Special Requirements
Working Conditions
The majority of the work time will be spent in the Automotive lab area. Conditions will be noisy.

Ear protection may be needed

Protective eye wear is required

Protective clothing and shoes will be required
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervision of students in the classroom, in the auto tech lab, and at off-site locations will be required.
Fiscal Responsibilities
Individual may be responsible for ordering or receiving equipment and tools necessary for the program.
Curricula Responsibilities
The curriculum of this program will be set by NATEF and implemented by the program instructor. However, participation in the development and support of lab activities based on experience may be offered.
Method of Evaluation
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
