Job Overview
We are looking for a hands-on, versatile Facilities Technician with experience in electrical installation, mechanical maintenance, and warehouse operations. This hybrid role blends elements of facilities upkeep, light manufacturing, product configuration, and inventory fulfillment. You'll play a critical part in maintaining our building infrastructure while also assembling, testing, and preparing customer orders—ensuring safety, accuracy, and operational excellence across the board.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance on facility equipment, including cranes and reach trucks.
- Perform building maintenance including electrical, mechanical and general repairs.
- Fabricate and build necessary components or structures as required for facility operations.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with the warehouse supervisor to optimize work flow and efficiency within the facility.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inventory levels, and equipment status.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Conduct preventive maintenance for mechanical equipment and facility systems (HVAC, lighting, plumbing).
- Support layout changes and workspace modifications, including moving fixtures and wiring adjustments.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized facility environment.
- Review customer specifications and configure products accordingly (e.G., PLCs, sensors, controllers).
- Perform functional testing using test equipment like power supplies, multimeters, and fixtures.
- Create and interpret basic wiring diagrams to support customer builds.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in low-voltage assemblies.
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical and electrical units using hand tools.
- Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders based on pick tickets.
- Ensure accurate labeling and secure packaging for shipments.
- Prepare shipping documentation and manage returns processing.
- Perform quality checks on outgoing orders and document any discrepancies.
- Operate warehouse equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks, walkies, stackers) safely and efficiently.
- Support inventory accuracy by updating records through the ERP system.
- Serve as a backup for shipping/receiving and general warehouse support tasks.
Skills
- Proficient in operating cranes and reach trucks safely and efficiently.
- Strong understanding of OSHA regulations related to facility maintenance and safety practices.
- Comfortable handling building maintenance, minor plumbing, painting, and repair tasks.
- Ability to fabricate components using various tools and materials.
- Experience with RF scanners for effective inventory management.
- Capable of performing heavy lifting tasks as required by the job duties.
- Excellent organizational skills with a focus on inventory control processes.
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with team members and supervisors.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and facility improvement initiatives.
