Position Overview:
The Master Data Specialist is responsible for the master data entry maintenance into SAP. Creates and maintains Vendors, Customer, Materials, BOMs and other related master data in SAP. The position participates in data cleansing activities, business process reviews as it relates to master data and continuous business improvement projects. Actively engages in cross functional communication to ensure timely Engineering Change releases.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Performs activities related to master data management
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of master data in SAP, globally for ARP. Uses technical knowledge of system to ensure accuracy and is the power user in this area.Executes changes to SAP Master data (Customer, Item/material, Bill of Material, Routing, Supplier and others as needed) as approved by business review process including requests to create, change, extend, block/unblock, activate/deactivate, or otherwise modify master dataIdentifies potential problems and uses expertise to resolve issues. Additionally works closely with the requestor and Plants, to resolve any questions or discrepancies in the data.Communicate to appropriate departments all non-standard requests. Investigate and assist in developing configuration for master data and ensure that all department needs are met.Establishes procedures for new processes and trains plant personnel and other requestors accordingly. Supports business review processes as appropriateAnalyze, troubleshoot and resolve errors and assists other master data team members and accounting with issues they encounterCompiling reports on the quality of master data and following up to ensure remediation of errors and ensure good data qualityImplementing and ensuring compliance with master data governance policies and proceduresPerforms "logic" review to catch errors in defined global data fields and escalates or remediates errorsWorks cross functionally with Operations, Finance, Supply Chain, Accounting , Pricing and IT to develop the configuration of master data objects (Customers Vendors, Materials, BOMs, Routings),Act as an SAP master data subject matter expert included on project teams to provide guidance as necessary for new processes, maintenance, and analysis. 10% travel (potentially)
Skills Required:Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply ChainA minimum of four years' work experience and/or training.Two years of SAP or other Tier 1 ERP Material Master, Bill of Material (BOM), Vendor or Customer master experience required.Critical thinkerStrong analytical skillsStrong Communication skills
Knowledge and ExperienceHigh level of proficiency in MS Excel and strong attention to detail required.Flexibility, high quality standards and strong sense of responsibilityStrong sense of urgency and quality awarenessExcellent interpersonal, leadership, verbal and written communication skills required.Able to prioritize and handle multiple duties/projects at one time.
