DIRECTOR / ANNUAL DEVELOPMENT / COLLEGE OF MEDICINE

Position Summary:
The Director of Annual Development for the College of Medicine (CMED ) plays a key role in advancing the college’s mission through strategic and impactful annual and major giving programs. This position is responsible for designing, executing, and managing targeted fundraising initiatives that inspire broad-based support from CMED alumni, faculty, staff, and retired or emeriti faculty and staff. In addition to growing the annual donor base and increasing donor engagement, the Director will also raise upwards of $1,000,000 annually from a select portfolio of approximately 100 prospects, cultivating and soliciting larger annual gifts and major gifts that will help build a pipeline of deepening donor commitment for CMED .
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree.
Five years of professional experience in sales, marketing, fundraising, or a related field.
Demonstrated successful and progressively responsible relationship development experience in fundraising, sales, customer service, and/or alumni/donor relations.
Exceptional interpersonal and persuasive verbal and written communication skills, including projecting a positive and professional attitude.
Proven track record working both independently and as part of a team while inspiring trust and confidence with colleagues and constituents.
Ability to successfully handle competing priorities and manage projects.
Proficiency with Microsoft e-mail, excel, word, and online applications.
Must possess, or be able to obtain, a valid driver’s license.
Ability to meet travel requirements, including air and vehicle travel.
Must be able to lift and carry files and promotional materials.
Must be willing to work evening and/or weekend hours as necessary.
Must be able to make compelling direct, face-to-face solicitations as well as in written proposals, and assist other staff with their solicitation plans (e.g. provide portfolio development support, strategic counsel, and help with donor communications).

Staff Pay Level:
Pay Range: $95,000 - $110,000 per year
