Sr. CMM Technician, Zeiss Calypso Programming
Position Summary
The Sr. CMM Technician will interact with team members to ensure compliance and internal and external customer requirements are met, with focus on Zeiss CMM programming and equipment. This will be accomplished within Tecomet's principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win first culture, while meeting company financial and other performance metrics.
Principle Responsibilities
Develop and maintain standardization of CMM programming technique.
Work with management and engineering to investigate and pursue the latest in CMM inspection equipment and technology.
Create, edit, and maintain standard company procedures (SCP's) and work instructions (WI's) pertaining to CMM programming.
Create, edit and optimize CMM programs and associated reporting, using Zeiss Calypso software in support of NPI, R&D, and existing production business.
Setup CMM equipment to perform dimensional inspections of manufactured components.
Help maintain CMM equipment operation thru supply Kanban and troubleshooting when needed.
Assist in providing guidance for performing CMM programming, troubleshooting and editing of programs.
Work closely with Quality Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, and others for the practical use of CMM inspection programs for new products as well as improve existing programs.
Work with customers, management, manufacturing engineers and quality engineers on a daily basis to resolve quality issues.
Assist with GR&R / MSA studies.
Qualification Requirements
Credentials/Experience:
Experience/Educational/Training Preferred:
ASQ certification preferred
2 years' experience in quality within medical device manufacturing industry preferred
ISO 13485, FDA 820 and customer interaction experience preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Provide leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge and skills.
Technical skills: Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso);
Mechanical understanding: Strong knowledge and understanding of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
Blueprint reading: Ability to accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
Measurement skills: Familiarity with various measurement tools like calipers, micrometers, and indicators.
Computer proficiency: Basic computer skills for data analysis and reporting.
Problem-solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and find solutions to complex measurement challenges.
Attention to detail: High level of precision and accuracy required in measurements.
Regulations - FDA, GMP and ISO.
Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
