We are currently searching for a dynamic, Research and Development Engineer - Mechanical Quality to be responsible for ensuring that mechanical hardware components and assemblies are consistently manufactured and assembled per engineering design intent. Primary responsibilities will include
Work closely with FAC Manufacturing Engineer and Quality department
Assist in the development of the Manufacturing Ex-factory documents
Review and approve the Manufacturing MPPs which must provide clear instruction for the assembler to increase the likelihood of consistent and proper assembly on every unit built
Assure Manufacturing has the appropriate tools and inspection equipment required to perform the assembly and validation of the product
Specify any validation documentation that is to be filed and/or shipped with the product
Periodically audit the manufacturing assembly process
Review and approve shipping dunnage
Support troubleshooting of mechanical products issues that occur during the manufacturing of the component assembly at FAC or components that have failed at customer production site
Work closely with mechanical component and assembly suppliers
Ensure all critical inspections are included, method of inspection is clear and acceptance criteria specified
Review and approve supplier's in-process and ex-factory inspection tooling, equipment and procedures
Specify any validation documentation that is to be shipped with component/assembly
Review and approve the supplier component packaging
Write clear and concise technical reports
Occasional travel required Ideal candidate will have the following experience and education
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent relevant experience
1+ years professional experience as an engineer
Basic aptitude for mechanisms and reading engineering drawings
Experience with 3D CAD (i.e. Solid Edge, SolidWorks, etc.)
Willingness to learn SolidWorks, Mathcad and operation and programing of FANUC robots
Willingness to learn Oracle Preferred Qualifications
Related experience in machine design and analysis
