Position Summary:
The Marketing Intern provides support to various areas of the Marketing Department while developing fundamental marketing skills and gaining a better understanding of the day-to-day functions of the Marketing Department. The Marketing Intern must also provide consistent "Unsurpassed Service" to all internal and external Guests, focusing on communication and relationship building.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design promotions and direct mail strategies to grow the customer base.
• Designs printed collateral and outdoor boards with a proper balance of informational and visual appeal.
• Performs regular review of all creative messages for usability, adherence to brand standards, and accessibility; continually looks at best practice enhancement to keep all digital messages fresh and technically current. Create advertising and public relations strategies.
• Promote Gun Lake Casino's marketing initiatives to support the property.
• Understand how advertising campaigns are coordinated with in-house designers and agencies to ensure all information is accurate.
• Provide production support by requesting quotes and purchase orders, along with ensuring deadlines and delivery dates are met.
• Work with Community Relations Coordinator to assist with generating media coverage, updating media contacts, and distributing press releases.
• Participate in off-property community relations events, including set up, tear down, coordinating volunteers, and providing post-event recaps.
• Contribute to social media content that engages followers.
• Enroll guests into the property's loyalty program while maintaining a high level of data accuracy.
• Respond to guests' requests, complaints, and/or inquires while being courteous and prompt.
Essential Qualifications:
• 21+ years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
• Some College, must be junior or senior enrolled in a bachelor's program, preferably toward a business designation, Marketing or Advertising major preferred.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite/ Cloud, specifically InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and After Effects.
• Demonstrated understanding of visual design principles.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with guests, team members, and management in both written and verbal form.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office with proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Must be flexible, able to handle multiple tasks, and establish priorities effectively.
• Must be able to utilize critical-thinking skills in order to work independently and make decisions without direct supervision.
Physical Requirements:
• Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color, and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
• Ability to sit for the duration of shift.
• Ability to access all properties and areas.
• Ability to read, write, and input data into the computer.
• Ability to stoop, crouch, and kneel.
Work Conditions:
Work is typically in an office environment. Tasks may be performed from a sitting or non-sitting position in a confined area. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull, and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of the assigned area. Work may entail trained chemical usage. Required to be able to be in a smoke environment within the Casino. Constant contact with fellow team members and guests.
