This is a contract, paraprofessional position providing classroom assistance to teachers. The person is assigned to a specific site and may support multiple classrooms at the assigned location. The person must have a willingness to learn and apply new concepts and techniques with the children in the classroom. The person must also demonstrate the ability to work with a diverse group of families from a wide variety of demographic backgrounds. This position will work under the supervision of the Site Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Attend initial orientation
- Assist in maintaining a safe and healthy, developmentally-focused learning environment for the children
- Communicate ideas, problems, and concerns to the teacher or Site Manager/Education Specialist
- Plan and support the teachers in the classroom in a variety of planned activities
- Complete all duties related to the service of breakfast, lunch, and snack in compliance with CACFP meal service and Family Style Meals
- Attend trainings and meetings upon request
- Perform related tasks as required by the program
- Other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or GED required
- Some college preferred
- Early Head Start/Head Start experience preferred
PAY: $15.00 per hour
