This is a full-time position providing a wide range of community-based services to youth with serious emotional disturbance, behavioral challenges, co-occurring substance use disorders or developmental disabilities, and involvement with the juvenile justice system. This position includes individual and family therapy, and case management provided in the home, school, or community, using evidence-based practices, as well as coordination of services with families, schools, juvenile court, DHHS/foster care, primary care physicians, and other community agencies. The person in this position will complete integrated Biopsychosocial assessments and Person-centered Treatment Plans based on consumer/family strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences. The Juvenile Justice Outreach Therapist will work closely with the juvenile justice system and probation officers for coordination of care and support children’s behavioral health needs to assist with maintaining youth in the community. The Juvenile Justice Outreach Therapist will work under the direction of the Coordinator of Children's Special Programs.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments
- Formulation of person-centered treatment plans
- Provide individual, family, and group psychotherapy
- Collaboration and participation with other clinical staff and treatment team members in planning and guiding treatment
- Assist families with accessing and utilizing community resources
- Liaison with natural supports, juvenile courts/probation officers, Care Management Organizations, and other community agencies in working toward therapeutic goals
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- MSW or MA in Clinical Psychology from an accredited program.
- Current State of Michigan Professional Licensure
- Mental health experience with children and families, as well as juvenile justice system experience preferred
- Valid MI driver’s license and ability to meet agency’s insurance and company’s standards for vehicle coverage
SALARY: $42,221 to $58,808 (commensurate with experience) + Signing bonus
