Onaway Tax Service is seeking a receptionist/office assistant. No tax experience necessary. This is a part year position, normally mid to late January through April 15. May be part time if necessary. Ideal for someone looking for winter work.
Duties include answering the phone, making appointments and greeting clients at the door. They also include filing, copying stocking the office machines, handling the mail and bank deposits. You would be responsible for keeping the reception area clean by dusting, vacuuming, empty trash, spray disinfectant, help keep our employee restroom clean, occasionally remove snow and sprinkle ice melt in front of the door after the plowing service leaves.
Onaway Tax service follows CDC and MIOSHA guidelines, so a mask is required. Full covid vaccination is highly suggested. Our clients are seen by appointment and our door is locked, so we do not have a lot of foot traffic.
You would be expected to dress neatly - office casual, and be on time. Advance warning of absences if at all possible. You must be able to withhold confidential information, including the identity of our clients.
Our normal hours are 9am to 5 pm. One half hour lunch is paid. Pay is weekly, usually the following Monday.
