The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for the coordination of Logistics activities for a given shift. Supervises hourly employees, assigns resources and supports Logistics Coordinators in making sure material is available to ship on time across three shifts. Supervise the overall logistics and mainset departments (Safety, Delivery and Morale) and motivate employees to meet targets
Ensure environmental, health and safety regulations are adhered to
Enforces plant rules and procedures and initiates or recommends necessary corrective disciplinary action, when needed.
Coaches and counsels' employees so the maximum contribution can be realized from each team member.
Review, plan and organize the material needed for shipments with the Logistics Coordinator's. (export coils, materials from GV1) to achieve delivery performance goals.
Maintain Kronos and overtime equalization for logistics and mainset departments
Manage, organize, and maintain expendable packaging (cardboard, plastic trays, skids) to ensure that there is no disruption to production.
Assess project and/or resource requirements needed to maintain 5S standards in GV2.
Oversee and manage Logistics daily cycle counts.
Help manage and maintain material flow for shipments and incoming material.
Perform standardized work including line audits for overall conformity
Other duties as required by the Logistics Manager
Create shipment plans by scheduling and assigning personnel; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems.
Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.
Required Experience
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associate's degree or higher preferred.
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
2-4 years of experience in manufacturing or lead supervisory experience preferred. Strong knowledge manufacturing concepts. Understanding of scheduling procedure.
