We are actively searching for a hard working, resilient, motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our Tool & Die team as a day shift CMM Operator!
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate initiative to analyze problems and innovate best solutions.
- Operator Mitutoyo CMM with Metrolog software and Leika Laser Tracker with touch and laser scanners using Polyworks software (or similar equipment and software).
- Assist the Business Units by using the CMM equipment as needed for measurement on all projects.
- Prepare inspection plans based on part geometry, tolerances, GD&T and functional requirements for optimum performance and accuracy.
- Create, correlate, maintain, and revise CMM programs of various sizes and complexity.
- Develop and document metrics around CMM programming to present to both internal and external stakeholders
- Provide data reports and visual reports, for all programs that require such information for engineers or customers.
- Communicate and clarify the results of each measurement project to HS Inc teams and customers.
- Advocate for the available CMM services and their value to the Business Units.
- Actively maintain knowledge of latest developments in CMM equipment and practices.
- Develop and exhibit best practices for CMM operation at HS Inc.
- Ability to bring assignments to a successful completion in accordance with project time allotment.
- Must be willing to travel between business units.
- Perform all duties in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001.

Shift, Hours and Location:
- Located at Plant 1 (Tool & Die Headquarters) in Grand Rapids, MI
- Right off of Lake Michigan Drive
- Day Shift Hours
- Monday - Friday, 7:00AM - 5:30PM
- Saturday mornings (5 hours, can be flexible on what time would work best for you)
Qualifications and Education Requirements:
- Associate degree or equivalent from 2-year College or technical school; or combination of education and experience.
- Five years related experience in injection mold construction, custom automation, or CMM operation and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Basic computer skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of:
- Schematic interpretation
- Metrology
- CMM
- Trouble shooting
- Proven mechanical aptitude with a focus on safety and quality.
Physical Requirements:
- The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The position requires frequent lifting, pushing and pulling objects that are 50lbs or heavier.
