The Medical Social Worker will assess the social and emotional needs of public health clients to identify risk areas that could prevent the client from having a healthy outcome to pregnancy and ability to parent a child, families in crisis, and adults with psycho-social needs. Assists clients in obtaining assistance to meet those needs. Provides direct counseling services to clients. Works with children and adults. Maintains case records and completes reports as required by department standards.
Position requires travel throughout Marquette County.
This position is 32 hours per week on average. Fringe benefits are offered with this position.
Required Education: Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work or related human service area.
Required Experience: One year of professional experience working with maternal/child health or families.
Other Requirements: Registered Social Worker with the State of Michigan. Possession of a valid Michigan Driver's License.
