This 1 st shift position will be in our Plant 3, Whitehall Casting Operation. The key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop CNC programs to support new part launches
Provide manufacturing support and problem solving
Validate pre-released CNC programs
Lead cycle time and tooling cost reduction efforts.
Develop and lead initiatives to achieve 'Lights Out Manufacturing' including offline programming, in machine probing, and pallet system integration.
Lead continuous improvement activities to improve manufacturing OEE related to adaptive machining.
Optimize machine cutting paths and/or settings to improve manufacturing performance and quality.
Manage selection of cutting tools and holders, Including specifications and procurement.
Support of legacy programs including program edits, revision control, etc.
Support maintenance and production with troubleshooting of machinery and tooling.
Support engineering in quotation and estimation of cycle times and tooling costs.
Train new employees on how to properly operate CNC machines and execute programs.
Execute a "Zero Defects" and "Don't Take, Don't Make, Don't Pass" culture within the 5 axis department.
Provide Root Cause & Corrective Action (RCCA) support within the 5 axis programming work scope as well as the production operations.
Work with lead 5 axis programmer providing technical guidance and decision making for less experienced programmers.
Qualifications
BASIC REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum of one years experience with set-up, programming and troubleshooting of CNC machines.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in engineering
Minimum of 3 years experience with set-up, programming and troubleshooting of CNC machines.
Fluent in the creation and validation of 5 axis CNC machining programs.
Basic working knowledge of CNC programming using CAD/CAM and/or manual G-codes.
Experience with Renishaw Equator programming and operation.
PC literate in Microsoft Word and Excel
Knowledge of adaptive machining software and integration using TTL , Renishaw and ATOS systems.
Proficient in Siemens based software solutions including NX, NX CAM and OmniCAD.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
Ability to write detailed work instructions to support all aspects of adaptive machining.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude.
