Job Summary
Assists the Recreation Therapy Director in the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of Recreation Therapy services for Long Term Care/Memory Care programs.
Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain current knowledge of service delivery objectives and implement all regulatory requirements related to Therapeutic Activities under the supervision of the Recreation Therapy Director.

Assess resident's activity participation. Create an individualized plan of care related to recreation therapy. Encourage input from resident and family.

Assist in planning, implementing and evaluating resident-centered activities, including a balance of physical, intellectual, religious, leisure, social, sensory/stimulation programs, and community outings under supervision of the Recreation Therapy Director.

Document and maintain accurate records related to residents' level of activity and participation.

Visit and provide a variety of activities to residents who require one-on-one visits.

Maintain adequate levels of supplies and report equipment and supply needs to supervisor; store supplies and equipment in assigned storage areas and activity centers.

Participate in performance related goal setting and achievement to meet personal and organizational objectives and goals.

Participate as a member of the Interdisciplinary team. Attend assigned care conferences; discuss pertinent recreational therapy, individualized care plans, and subsequent reassessments of the same.

Supervise/coach a team of Recreation Therapy Assistants. Complete annual reviews and monthly rounding logs.
Job Qualifications
Education, Training, and Licensure/Certification
-
Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or related field.
-
Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist required, or eligible to obtain certification within six months of date of hire.
Experience
-
Two years' experience working with elderly persons or related field/audience preferred.

Previous experience conducting activities preferred.
