The Village of Middleville's Department of Public Works (DPW) is seeking a qualified applicant to fill the position of WWTP Supervisor in preparation to replace a long-time retiring supervisor. Specific areas of duty include operating and maintaining the wastewater collection system, treatment plant, and lift stations to control wastewater, sludge, and effluent flow and processing. The person in this position plans, schedules, and implements maintenance, operation and construction activities designed to provide quality wastewater collection and treatment service for the Village, and other duties as assigned. Preferred qualifications: five (5) years of experience relating to the construction, repair and maintenance of wastewater collection or treatment systems, including the operation of related maintenance equipment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. The successful candidate will have the ability to obtain a C wastewater license within one (1) year of employment, along with a CDL-B or ability to obtain one within six (6) months of hire; thorough knowledge of equipment, facilities, materials, methods and procedures used in wastewater collection and treatment systems; considerable knowledge of sewer pipe installation, connection and repair; considerable knowledge of wastewater treatment plant operation and maintenance. The position requires residence within a 30-minute recall time. Pay $50,000+, negotiable, depending on qualifications. The selected candidate must pass a pre-employment physical, including a drug screen. The position will be open until filled.
