Job Description As we move towards our ZERO emissions, ZERO crashes, ZERO congestion vision for the future, we are looking to hire a progressive Program Validation Engineer (PVE) to be part of our Global Product Validation Team! Responsibilities of the PVE include program validation leadership for Major/Lifecycle programs to manage the development and timely execution of all Validation goals for our Cruise Origin program. Key responsibilities as follows: * Act as single point contact between Joint Venture partners and GM vehicle program team and our GM Validation team. Our PVE is accountable for on-time completion of all Validation output for host vehicle success to include Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). * Provides multi-functional direction for validation activities that results in on-time delivery of a minimum viable product (MVP). * Prioritizes validation activities under software constraints that results in a safe and vehicle for post-SORP autonomous development. * Achieve Joint Venture approval for the physical build plan at GM's Global Vehicle Build Review (GVBR) and work with the PPO Build Manager to align build capacity with balance planned ADV work * Ensure "test ready" properties by leading the Fidelity List activity, collaborating with the Lead Development Engineer, and supporting the Retrofit process as required * Champion validation issues by removing roadblocks, and effectively communicate status/risk of validation activities up to key partners for important forums/meetings like PQRR gates. * Provide direction to resolve issues (including physical property shared usage) surfaced by the Program Validation Team, identify/communicate issues affecting multiple PVT members, & ensure those issues are properly brought up to key partners for rapid resolution - assuming leadership for resolving program validation issues as the need arises * Acts as the Validation team single point contact for program content changes and ensures validation plans are addressed * Recognized as a person who could grow into a people leader role in the future * Travels as the need arises to ensure program validation success We believe work-life balance is essential to a team member's success and job satisfaction. The employee's role enables them to work at a GM facility or off-site as frequently as needed or desired. This position requires an employee to be onsite 1-3 times per week. Additional Job Description Required Skills/Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Computer Science and/or Information Technology * 5+ years of proven experience in a job-related area (outside of co-op/internship) * Project Management Professional (PMP) and/or Agile certification Preferred Skills/Qualifications * Familiarity with autonomous vehicles technology domain. * Familiarity with Production Part Approval Process (PPAP). * Experience with FMVSS, joint ventures, and Safety (*S) Problem Resolution Tracking System (PRTS) 3-legged stool procedure. * High levels of demonstrated communication skills, exhibits appropriate interpersonal styles, and has strong business sense that meets joint venture partner goals. * Demonstrated technical/professional skills in job-related area with specific knowledge of engineering theory and principles of operation for mechanical/electrical mechanisms within job-related area (e.g. mechanics, physics, metallurgy, manufacturing methods, electronics, software, control systems) * Experience in creating strategy roadmaps, forecasting issues, excellent project management skills with the ability to work independently on multiple initiatives at the same time. * Thrives with ambiguous problems, develops effective solutions, and drives to implement them. * Can identify the complexities involved in global architectures and understands the interdependencies at subsystem, system, feature, and vehicle level. Also understands the impact of global sourcing on development & validation plans * Can identify and manage technical & timing risks, along with critical path for all related vehicle level validation issues * Detail oriented, versatile, innovative, self-motivated teammate with a positive demeanor.
