Tenneco Powertrain (previously Federal-Mogul Powertrain) in Greenville MI has a rewarding opportunity for a Maintenance Mechanic with related manufacturing experience within our Skilled Trades Department!

The general duties of the position include but are not limited to the following:
Troubleshoots pneumatic, hydraulic, mechanical and electrical problems.
Fabricates sheet metal parts and safety guards for equipment.
Performs preventive maintenance on equipment.
Moves, aligns, level, and installs machinery.
Responsible for the start up and shutdown of specific plant machines and equipment.
Understands and operates according to IATF16949:2016 work instructions for area.
Participate in process improvement.
Maintain housekeeping in the department in order to facilitate a neat, safe, and orderly work environment.
Has the responsibility and authority to prevent non-conformances relating to product, process, and quality systems including stopping production when suspect product in being run. Job specific authority and responsibilities for quality are defined in the work instructions for that job/department.
Assist management as appropriate, to ensure all environmental and safety regulations as well as best practices are met and or/exceeded. Ensure the proper segregation and labeling of all waste products and recyclables, and ensure waste minimization is practiced wherever possible. Adhere to all plant safety rules.
Required Skills
Position Requirements and Experience:
Qualified applicant must have high school diploma or G.E.D.
Qualified applicant must have the ability to work 1st shift (7am - 3pm), 2nd shift (3pm - 11pm), or 3rd shift (11pm - 7am)
Eight (8) years of electrical/mechanical experience, journeyman card preferred
Ability to require daily and/or weekend overtime, as required
Ability to be licensed and drive powered industrial trucks, lifts, etc.
Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment hair follicle drug screen and background check
Pay and Benefits:
Beginning August 2, 2021, the starting wage will be $26.26/hour with an increase to $28.26 following the 4 month probationary period. (Current starting rate is $25.91/hr)
