Job Description
This General Accounting position involves various accounting functions related to supporting operational plants. Applies principles of accounting to analyze a variety of financial information of moderate scope and complexity and prepares financial reports. Responsible for the accuracy, integrity, control and timeliness of financial reports, transactions, systems, and processes.
This position reports to the Accounting Manager
The scope of this position requires working with operational units, and plant staff in ensuring compliance with corporate policies and procedures while maintianing accounting controls.
Monthly closing, journal entries, and correspondence to various plants and departments
Various monthly and quarterly account reconciliations and analysis
Interaction with Accounts Receivable Shared Services and helping to resolve customer discrepancies
Budget review and analysis
Recommends financial actions to management by analyzing accounting options.
Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
Applies continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems
Shares specialized accounting knowledge with others. Represents organization on specific projects. Contributes to team effort through cross-functional or project team responsibilities and continuous improvement projects
Bachelors degree in Accounting
two to seven years accounting experience preferred
Good knowledge of all aspects of general accounting
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Proficient with Microsoft applications (Excell, Access, Word) and Power BI
Ability to handle many tasks at a given time and work effectively with others in a team environment
