Clinical nurses are part of our clinical team that helps to oversee a consumer’s physical needs, medications, and plan of service.
FAQ:
What shifts are available? Clinical services are generally 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. There is a rotational crisis on-call that may need occasional coverage.
Do I need a license in order to apply? Yes. A valid Registered Nurse license in the state of Michigan is required.
LOCATION:
This posting takes place on-site. Due to the nature of the work, remote employment is currently unavailable for this position.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
- Registered Nurse Degree from a recognized or accredited institution with course work in mental health.
- Possess State registration as a Registered Nurse.
Experience:
- One or more years of relevant mental health experience.
- Knowledge of developmental disabilities and of people with developmental disabilities desirable.
- Lived experience with mental illness, intellectual and developmental disabilities, and/or substance use disorders valued.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Clinical Nurse you will:
- Function in support of Physician Services and/or I/DD Clinical Support Services.
- See to primary areas of responsibility including completion of nursing assessments, monitoring the individual’s health care needs, overseeing and/or administering injections.
- Provide services in a variety of settings to including; the outpatient clinic, community, consumer’s home, or an AFC (adult foster care) setting.
- Be required to complete Annual Assessments, Pre-Plans, Plans of Service, POSR, Medication Reviews, Nursing Assessments and Quarterly Nursing Reviews, based on need.
- Write appropriate health care programs focusing on integrated health needs, oversees labs and treatments as ordered by physicians; consultation and collaboration with providers and staff, instructs staff who carry out procedures outlined in programs; monitors programs/progress and, case closures as assigned.
- Address daily medication calls and consults with Physicians, Physician Assistant and Nurse Practitioner.
- Discharge individual services for physician services.
- Participate in crisis intervention backup services as needed.
- The clinical nurse may be requested to meet with pharmaceutical representatives to record sample medications and assist DR/PA/NP in dispensing to individuals served.
