PRIMARY POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform measurement system studies for all component and assembly gages. Complete calculations and communicate the results to the Quality Engineer (QE) and Operations Team.
- Perform Capability Studies for all component and assembly special characteristics. Communicate the results to the QE.
- Prepare necessary Customer documents as directed (e.g.: GP11, FE3, AAR’s, PSW’s, and Lab PPAP packages) for all products/processes. Review the documents with the QE for final approval.
- Perform component inspection as directed by the QE.
- Assist the Quality Engineer in the resolution of plant Quality issues.
- Develop reports and charts for use during product builds and communicate the results to the QE and Operations Team.

Safety: Study, institute and maintain efficient and safe work practices, procedures, facilities; by coordinating with the Human Relations Department and Manufacturing Engineering Department and keeping them abreast of all safety and efficiency requirements to maintain an accident-free, high-efficiency plant operation

QUALIFICATION/EXPERIENCE:
Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude, critical thinking, and troubleshooting skills to determine the root cause.
- Excellent and effective communication skills. Ability to talk technically about the process with a solid understanding of process monitoring and products to ensure the right information is communicated.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, blueprints, and procedure manuals, and follow technical documentation.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide into all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. The candidate has the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- The candidate has the ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
- Must be computer literate and familiar with appropriate software programs. The candidate has the ability to create visual aids for communication purposes.
- Self-directed and strong time management skills
- Familiarity with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan standards, PPAP requirements, Dimensional studies, and gage/fixture studies.
- Quality system experience.
- Specific education and training in Quality disciplines including QS9000, Continuous Improvement, Total Quality Management, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, DOE, and SPC are desired.
- Candidates may have these requirements waived only by the Manufacturing Quality Manager (or equivalent).
- An Associate’s Degree is preferred (or equivalent experience)
- 3-5 years of previous relevant work experience is required, preferably within the automotive industry.
- Must have a consistent employment record to include good attendance and be capable of adapting to a participative teamwork environment.
