This 1 st shift Material Control Processor position is located in the Howmet Research and Development Operation and will be responsible for: -
Providing LIMS, Specification and testing support for HES, Rings and Forgings & Niles, OH.
Receive and submit samples in the LIMS system
Review, enter and update specifications in the LIMS system
Train new LIMS users
Support manufacturing, laboratory, and research & development functions
Basic Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
Minimum of two years' continuous work experience post high school
Successfully meet the standardized Pre-Visor testing requirements. If applicant has worked as a technician at Howmet in the past 10 years or possesses a minimum of an associate degree, testing is not required.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the Internal Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status.
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with laboratory testing
Familiarity with the Howmet Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
Experience with customer specification and blueprint review
Must be flexible in a changing work environment and able to reorganize rapidly to changing priorities.
Ability to read and interpret documents
Strong communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to handle multiple tasks and maintain a customer-friendly attitude
Flexibility in work schedule, including overtime to support production facility and laboratory needs
Knowledge of laboratory testing and the periodic table of elements
Strong keyboarding/typing skills
Ability to work independently
