Lead a highly responsive team of software engineers on the development of Dematic Software products and solutions. The Software Manager will work in Dematic Research and Development department at our office in Grand Rapids, MI or Milwaukee, WI. This position will report directly to the Director, WES Development.
Key Responsibilities:
Establishes, leads, and manages a team of engineering professionals. This includes interviewing candidates, hiring, and other essential management responsibilities.
Mentor, coach, and evaluate direct reports.
Define workflows, jobs, and reporting relationships to obtain optimum effectiveness
Interface/interact with internal and external customers
Participate in key decisions for the local office and as part of the Global software development group
Support the development and management of departmental budgets and/or business plans
Is responsible for continuously enhancing and improving existing policies, products, and methods
Identify resource needs and develop justifications
Troubleshoot and resolve very complex problems and design issues
Recommend organizational structures and supervisory relationships
Responsible for the overall success of functions and projects within domain of control, with the emphasis on software quality and speed to market.

Education:
- Typically, Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
Knowledge and Experience:
Demonstrates and applies broad knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures for managed work group(s) and how it supports related operations.
Demonstrates understanding and application of supervisory approaches for work direction, motivation, performance management, and disciplinary action.
Typically 7 or more years of successful experience in a directly related field and successful demonstration of Key Responsibilities and Knowledge as presented above.
Demonstrates a strong understanding of intralogistics software in the field of material handling solutions.

- Typically manages non-exempt administrative or technical employees, and/or lower level exempt employees.
