Dematic Corp. has a need for an Day Controls Engineer or Software Engineer Lead in our Customer Service group. The schedule of this position will be 4 days on and 4 days off from 8:00 AM-8:00 PM. The successful candidate will be the Lead engineer for day-shift and be able to manage and delegate escalation calls appropriately. In addition, the candidate will be responsible for ensuring communication with customers and allocating resources to customer sites. Other job responsibilities include:
Provides excelling customer service support to Dematic's customers
Act as Lead for customer calls and delegate/escalate calls when necessary
Ensure proper resources are on-board at different customer locations
Responsible for finding and dispatching field service Dematic employees to customer locations
Participates in the design of semi-complex systems that integrate hardware and software
Provides support in semi-complex material specification, schematic preparation and appropriate follow-up
Participates in recommending ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction and improvement in customer satisfaction
Traveling 15-20% is to be expected. This could include weekends and potential overtime hours may be required.
Basic Qualifications:
Technical degree or Certification
At least 3 years' experience in a related Customer Service position/controls engineering role
Experience with Allen Bradley Logix PLC controls
Experience with controls hardware design
Siemens and Modicon PLC experience a plus.
Troubleshooting experience
Preferred Qualifications:
BSEE or similar engineering discipline
5 years' experience in a similar position
Experience in the material handling industry
Strong verbal communication skills over the phone
Experience working independently
Database Administration skills preferred
