The successful Manufacturing Engineer will :
Focus heavily on sustaining engineering support, production cell assembly, maintenance of lines, value analysis/value engineering in support of operations, research & development, and new product launch.
As a Manufacturing Engineer at X-Rite Pantone, you will be able to:
Design, develop and sustain production work cells for new product launch and maintenance of lines. Evaluate mechanical and electrical systems, products, components, and applications, applying your knowledge of production and materials.
Support Value Analysis/ Value Engineering (VAVE) to improve the total cost of components, and processes at X-Rite. Execute upon VAVE ideas through materials cost reduction, product re-engineering, manufacturing and test processes and collaboration with R&D teams on new product launch
Leverage external supplier design capabilities to achieve optimal cost within design and quality/reliability constraints of products
Support the full validation and qualification of Alpha, Beta and Pilot components/systems/processes during the new product launch cycle
Facilitation of design reviews and FMEA exercises with key suppliers to identify & target cost reduction and product reliability improvements in products
Create the necessary test documents, design for experiment and other documentation required for quality control at every step
Effectively manage engineering change control within assigned production cells, assigned products
Critical Success Factors for the Ideal Candidate are:
Ability to effectively communicate with people at different levels of the organization from manufacturing associates to the plant manager
Knowledge of bills of material, routings, manufacturing procedures, tooling/fixture design
Personal commitment and drive to improve manufacturing operations using the Danaher Business System (DBS) tools as needed to achieve results
Open, proactive, energetic, and transparent verbal and written communication style
Customer-focused attitude with a strong desire to work both independently and as part of cross-functional teams
Your Education and/or Background Experience will have
B.S. Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering with 3 - 5 years professional experience (Manufacturing Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering), preferably in analytical instrumentation or equivalent industry.
Product/System Design, CAD/CAM Software, schematics, and an understanding of GD&T fundamentals
Experience with Kaizen, Lean Manufacturing a plus.
Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, DFM and Quality Management Systems
Experience with automated motion controls or power electronics
