RN Field Nurse
Lakeshore Home Healthcare Services in Muskegon has an immediate opening for a Registered Nurse (RN) to do field work in clients homes. This position is part-time, 2-3 days per week. This position is under the direction, instruction and the supervision of the Regional Manager, for Lakeshore Home Health Care Services, Incorporated (Lakeshore). The Registered Nurse (RN) is a professional medical and health care employee who is specifically trained, and competent to provide the duties of their position. The RN administers skilled nursing care to clients on an intermittent basis in their place of residence.
Must be a graduate of a state approved school of nursing, and currently possess a valid RN license in the State of Michigan.
Must not have a criminal conviction for any violent crime or felony, and no past or pending disciplinary actions as an RN.
One (1) years experience in nursing preferred.
The ability to exercise initiative and independent judgment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Set up Medications per physician's orders
Call in refills for medication as needed
Performs ongoing assessments of client’s status
Asses the vital signs of the client at each visit
Initiates care and performs services in accordance with the clients’ plan of care.
Informs the physician and other healthcare team members of changes in the client’s condition and needs.
Coordinates client services as directed by the Regional Manager.
Counsels and educates the client and the clients family as appropriate
Adheres to standard precautions.
Processes orders and notifies physician of client needs and changes in the clients condition, Lakeshore certification / recertification orders and discharge summaries.
- Perform supervisory visits with clients to assess how Lakeshore employee is doing
Informs clients of their rights and responsibilities and respects these rights and responsibilities
Complies with all agency policies and procedures participates in Performance/Quality Improvement activities as indicated.
Participates in committees as requested.
Maintains an accurate account of medical supplies in his/her possession.
