As a Direct Hire for a Consumer of Allegan County Community Mental Health, you are directly employed by the consumer or their legal guardian. The funding source for pay is Medicaid, which is managed for the employer by a Fiscal Intermediary (GT Independence). All applicable Medicaid standards are required to be followed (documentation rules, Recipient Rights policies, etc.). Documentation is monitored and audited for abuse, waste and fraud.
CLS (Community Living Supports) Services are to help the consumer facilitate independence, productivity, and promote inclusion and participation. Services involve a variety of supports such as providing transportation for and assisting with shopping, community activities and appointments; assisting with meal prep, hygiene & grooming, keeping apartment clean and budgeting skills.
Respite Services are to support and relieve the primary care giver. Services typically involve staying with the consumer in their home and monitoring for health and safety but may also include community activities. Most respite is provided to children although some adults also receive this service.
Needed service hours vary for each consumer but typically range from 4 to 8 hours per week. Pay rates also vary and are up to your employer but must stay below a range given to them by ACCMHS. You can be employed by one or more consumers to work the number of hours you want.
