You will spend two weeks in classes (you will be paid for hours in class) that will help prepare you to take the state test and become certified.

Summary: Under supervision, provides basic nursing assistance and assists residents with daily living activities. These individuals have completed the 8 hour online certification course and pass facility competency skills checklist.
Qualifications:
Education :
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Licenses/Certification:
- Pass 8 hour online certification course
- Pass facility competency skills checklist
Essential Functions:
- Perform tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse or independently if competency is validated
- Competency areas are
- Personal safety and Emergency Care
- Documentation and Core Nursing Skills
- Positioning, Moving and Restorative Care
- Nutrition and Elimination
- Advanced and Specialty Care Environments
- Comfort Care and End of Life
- Assists residents with grooming, oral hygiene, bathing, hair, and incontinence care.
- Obtains food trays and assists residents with feeding.
- Assists resident with turning and positioning in bed
- Assists resident with ambulation for short distance in facility.
- Takes and records temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration rates, and food and fluid intake and output, as directed.
- Performs other tasks as assigned..
- Reports to Charge Nurse or designee on progress/lack of progress in achieving restorative goals.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members, and facility staff.
