Weber Automotive Apprentice Program is designed to give motivated individuals the opportunity to become highly skilled in a trade/position within Weber Automotive. Weber Automotive will search internally and externally to recruit the best candidates for the Apprenticeship Program.
What will you learn during your apprenticeship?
Efficient production performance through permanent availability of machines, plants and facilities. A Maintenance Technician is a highly skilled worker who maintains and repairs machinery in the plant. To do this effectively, he or she must be able to detect minor problems and correct them before they become major problems. After diagnosing the problem, the Maintenance Technician disassembles the equipment to repair or replace the necessary parts. He shall also be responsible to follow and carry out the preventive maintenance program.
- Set up, troubleshoot and repair mechanics, pneumatics and hydraulics, including reading technical diagrams and schematics
- Understand and repair motors and drives
Choose or develop correct test procedures and use quality management systems Use manual and CNC machinery
- Understand properties of different materials and how they affect production processes
- Select and perform correct joining technology, e.g. welding, brazing
PROGRAM OUTLINE AND REQUIREMENTS
The Weber Automotive Maintenance Technician Apprenticeship Program combines on-the-job training with formal classroom education over the span of 3 years to develop technical knowledge and practical work experience in our work environment.
Individuals selected for Apprenticeship will have 100% of educational expenses (including application fees, tuition/registration fees, textbooks, lab fees, exam fees) paid by Weber Automotive. The company has approved the Apprenticeship costs per calendar year for skilled trade development expenses. Any expenses excluded from reimbursement (see section "exclusions and limitations" in the Apprenticeship Program Outline) are the responsibility of the employee. Ex. Transportation expenses will not be paid or reimbursed.
Selected Apprentice individuals will be pursuing education in a determined schedule with a partner Educational Institution and working within the Weber Automotive facility on a determined (possibly varying) work schedule. The selected individual's employment must be continuous from start to completion of the Apprentice Program to qualify for completion of Apprenticeship. Any participating individual who resigns or who is discharged prior to completion of the Apprenticeship for which he/she is training for will not be eligible for completion and will be required to reimburse Weber Automotive for training costs under this policy. Any selected individual who completes his/her Apprenticeship will be employed for a minimum of 2 additional years with the goal of a long employment relationship.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must be able to obtain a Weber issued forklift license, including having a state issued driver's license
Must be able to obtain a Weber issued overhead crane license
- Must be able to obtain a Weber issued Genie boom lift license
- Must be able to obtain a Weber issued power platform license
