The New Business Development or Sales Professional will be responsible for attracting new clients. They will plan and carry out all sales activities for their accounts or areas. The right individual will be good at client communication and interaction, as well as writing documentation such as sales proposals and internal sales plans. This is a 4-day work-from-home position and requires up to 85% travel in the Michigan and neighboring state territory.
The ideal candidate will:
- Generate and qualify leads
- Source and develop client referrals
- Prepare sales action plans and strategies
- Schedule sales activity
- Develop and maintain a customer database
- Plan and attend specific conferences for targeted client base
- Make sales calls to new and potential clients
- Develop and make presentations of company products and services to potential clients
- Negotiate with clients
- Develop sales proposals
- Prepare and present sales contracts
- Maintain sales activity records via a CRM
- Respond to sales inquiries and concerns by phone, electronically or in person
Experience and Educational Preferences:
- Prefer 2+ years of experience in a previous sales role
- Proven ability to achieve sales targets
- Customer service experience
- Basic business experience
- Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of sales
- Experience writing presentations or sale proposals
- Experience in local and state government sales is a plus
