The Product Code Specialist is responsible for knowing product code guidelines, setting up, updating and auditing product codes and performs various administrative functions to provide support to a department/plant. This role can office from any UFP location.
Works under immediate supervision; relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform functions of the job; job functions require exercising independent judgment.
Principal Duties / Responsibilities
•Identifies researches, and resolves administrative problems and opportunities in regards to product codes.
•Learns and enforces the product code guidlines.
•Processes and creates all product codes for the company.
•Troubleshoots any problems within area of responsibility
•Prepares reports as requested by management
•Performs other duties as required.
•Can office from any UFP location.
•Minimum high school diploma
•Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience in administration/accounting; however, 3 to 5 years is preferred
•Working knowledge and proficiency in the use of computer and business related software, including Microsoft applications (Excel, Word and Outlook)
•Working knowledge of various office equipment (computer, scanner, etc.)
Skills and abilities
•Proficiency in the use of the English language in reading, writing and speaking
•Proficiency in the use of business math
•Ability to successfully communicate with all organizational levels
•Ability to communicate clearly and politely via phone and email with plants, co-workers, vendors, and others
•Ability to develop relationships with vendors and customers
•Ability to prioritize and organize workload with minimum supervision
•Ability to follow directions and instructions
•Ability to work hours mandated by management
•Ability to pass a drug test
•Highly motivated and enthusiastic
•Good interpersonal skills and good communication skills
•Strong organization skills and detail oriented
•Supportive of a continuous improvement work environment
•Be a team player and support the Department and Company goals
