Summary
Hemlock Semiconductor is seeking a Strategic Project Leader to provide project and program leadership of higher complexity continuous improvement opportunities and initiatives. The individual will apply continuous improvement methodologies across all business functions and levels of the organization to provide sustainable business impact. Project and initiative examples include continuous improvement projects, cost saving, quality, and growth programs, root cause investigations, etc.
Essential Functions
- Application of continuous improvement methodologies and principles (Six Sigma DMAIC, DFSS, and Lean) along with project leadership skills, data analysis, and analytics to solve complex problems.
- Work with project team and site leadership (up to and including the CEO) to reconcile a project goal, scope, and timeline.
- Leadership of multifunctional project teams.
- Leadership of strategic business initiatives and programs.
- Stimulates leadership by posing new ways of doing things, challenging existing paradigms, presenting new methodologies, and continually identifying new improvement opportunities.
- Executes and delivers on project commitments (especially timing and expected outcomes).
- Ensure regular, timely, accurate communications are provided to sponsors and stakeholders regarding the progress, success and problems facing the project(s) being led.
Additional Responsibilities
- Coaches / teaches tools, methodologies, and techniques to Green Belt practitioners.
- Aggressively pursues reward and recognition for significant accomplishment for the Six Sigma Project Team Members, and for others supporting the project team.
- Actively participates in the Community of Practice of Black Belts within HSC, sharing best practices and learnings.
- Ensures financial methodologies are used for the consistent evaluation of projects and the tracking of their success.
- Facilitates assigned safety investigations for corporate recordable incidents in a timely and professional manner.
- Seeks the advice and counsel of the Master Black Belt regarding problems with team leadership, statistical techniques, change management, or project leadership.
Work Experience
Required:

3 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, or manufacturing support functions.

Demonstrated successful execution of complex projects with multifunctional projects teams.

Demonstrated successful execution of complex projects utilizing Six Sigma methodologies and Lean principles.

Demonstrated successful leadership of programs is preferred.
Education Requirements
Required:
- Must have a completed Bachelor's degree. A degree in Engineering or Science field is preferred.
- Must have a Six Sigma Green Belt Certification. This certification must be provided by an external, broadly accepted certifying body.
