Summary
The Material and Logistics specialist will work closely with the HSC and Dow support teams to ensure material availability for HSC owned Midland I-Park assets. The specialist will provide experienced guidance and problem-solving solutions to meet HSC business objectives and ensures functional excellence of M10 building materials and workflows. This person will also be responsible for understanding, performing, and changing all material movement procedures and workflows as HSC continues to collaborate with Dow contracted operations and maintenance support. This person will have oversight and tasks associated with SAP materials transactions. The Specialist anticipates and eliminates potential material delays through evaluations and coordination with Dow, HSC reliability and HSC procurement groups. This individual understands contractual thresholds and shared costs between Dow and HSC. The specialist will act as the primary point of contact for materials outside of normal daily activities.
Essential Functions
- Workflows - maintain and manage warehouse workflows as needed to support the HSC and Dow collaborative process.
- Safety Stock Management – Work with maintenance and reliability team to ensure safety stock levels match the need for process operations.
- Cut Over – Identify and resolve inaccurate materials from Dow cut over. Initiates sell to/buy back workflows. (primary)
- Surplus Inventory Management – maintain surplus inventory records and storage strategy for surplus material. Evaluate Surplus usage for MRO addition opportunities. (primary)
- Non-Conforming Follow Up – maintain operational discipline to ensure non-conforming parts do not enter the process. Work with procurement and Dow contacts to return, refund, replace or scrap these materials and keep the non-conforming area inventory from building a backlog. (primary)
- MRO extensions – utilize the extension workflow using 0160 Hemlock plant as an option for support of Midland assets.
- PO analysis - Any parts on a PO need to be evaluated for MRO stocking. Evaluate 408 purchases for M10 MRO stock adds.
- Warehouse Auditing - ensure the workflows and storage locations are accurate through auditing practices (maintain operational discipline).
- Storage Strategy - efficient utilization of M10 inventory and set direction for warehouse staff for the storage of MRO, Surplus, Inbound, Outbound, Non-conforming materials.
- Refurb process ownership – tracking of refurb materials in warehouse and I-Park. Ownership of 247 queue. (primary)
- Requisition management - backlog oversight.
- Cycle Counts – participate in count auditing for checks and balances.
- Rigging equipment and utilizing overhead crane for larger equipment shipments, deliveries, and organization.
- Safe Work Permit writer for M10 building/grounds.
- Operate Fork Truck as needed for shipments, deliveries, and organization.
Additional Duties/Responsibilities
- Milk Run /Parts Runner – movement of parts between 0160 Hemlock and 0052 Midland plants scheduled and as needed.
- PMI – assist warehouse staff for positive material identification as needed to ensure parts are available for delivery to the I-Park.
- Requisitions – back up for the creation of requisitions for parts and services.
- After hours support – Provide assistance to warehouse staff for after hours parts to support production needs.
- Refurbs – Creation of refurb work orders as needed to support workflow step advancements.
- Valve Inspection workflow support – support warehouse staff as needed to ensure the movement of valves cycle through the workflow to be available for MRO goods issue.
- Co-Op daily task instruction – assist warehouse staff in co-op oversight. Provide learning and development opportunities as they arise.
- SAP Transactional support – back up for inbound, outbound, shipping, damaged, surplus, refurbs material movements.
- Cage Sales - back up for planned or unplanned material movements from the warehouse counter.
- Safety /Housekeeping – back up to ensure the building is clean and orderly, all safety practices and materials are available and followed.
